Everything I do goes back to the nervous system, especially the vagus nerve, and is trauma-informed.

I can accept your PIP motor vehicle accident insurance if you've been in a car accident. I take only a couple cases at a time, so please ask.

 

What to expect:

 

This is not a typical Swedish "fluff and buff massage." I don't do that.

 

We begin with a thorough intake and by addressing your needs, goals, and movement patterns. This might involve questions and postural analysis.

 

I'll also ask you what type of aromatherapy products you'd like during your treatment, if any. This includes relaxing Blissed Botanic signature blends such as Muscle Magick, Energizing Elixir, Calm and Clear Concoction, & Heart Healing, followed by customized bodywork to release tension and promote your body's natural healing ability. 

 

Fair warning: there may be homework! But don't worry, it's always easy to follow. I might recommend ball rolling, pilates, or yoga/stretching, delivered on an easy-to-follow guide.

 

Consider this your gentle (sometimes not so gentle) and blissed reminder to practice self-care.

 

This holistic approach is designed to address your needs as a whole person. My mission is to help you find the tools that bring you calmness, clarity, relief and of course bliss!

Bowenwork®

Bhrigha's newest modality addition. She is currently pursuing certification. Bowenwork was developed by Tom Bowen in Australia and is a wonderful addition to Bhrigha's extensive toolbox. Bowenwork® is a system of touch that initiates a series of responses through stimulation of the nervous, musculoskeletal, fascial and energetic systems of the body. Gentle rolling motions over tendons, ligaments, and muscle bellies are used to effect change in the deeper layers, with restful integration times on the table to let the messages from the proprioceptors and receptors get all the way back to the brain and nervous system. Its like reprogramming your computer with subtle messages from the body. Can be done wearing loose comfortable clothes if you prefer.

Its recommended to start with 1 session a week for 3 weeks, then every 2 weeks or as needed.

Bowenwork® is great for:

Craniosacral Work

 

This subtle, light-pressured yet powerful technique is like hitting the reset button on your nervous system! It works with the cerebrospinal fluid system, and muscles and fascia that attach to bones in the skull, spine, sacrum and throughout the body to relieve pain and encourage posture that promotes health and happiness. No oils are used and you're welcome to wear athletic or loose-fitting clothing for your session.

Myofascial Magick

 

Fascia is the connective tissue in your body, connecting skin to muscle, muscle to bone, and all of your anatomy. When the fascial system gets bound, it restricts movement in the body, contributing to many postural issues. It can be quite painful and is often an underlying cause of chronic conditions. 

 

Drawing inspiration from Medical Massage, Myofascial Release, Bowenwork, Neurovascular Release™, and postural analysis, Bhrigha blends the the best of each tailored just to you to provide relief from:

 

  • Sciatica

  • Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

  • Nerve entrapments

  • Reduced Range of Motion

Neurovascular Release™ (In-Person and Online)

 

 

Bhrigha is now incorporating these techniques into her in-person manual sessions and highly recommends the online sessions to stay up on your homework in between sessions.

 

Online through the magick of Zoom, Bhrigha teaches you self-care techniques to use at home online. She leads you through these (fully clothed) sessions using simple hand contacts and guided movement, we will gently lengthen the neurovascular (nerve and blood vessel) tracts that your muscles have been protecting. This will naturally allow your body to reorganize and feel more balanced, allowing it to integrate in relationship to gravity, by manipulating soft tissues and/or correcting inappropriate patterns of movement. This helps rebalance the entire body and nervous system. The soft, squishy, myofascial rolling balls I recommend in office may be incorporated too.

Neurovascular Myofascial Release is perfect for you if you cannot come to the office or need homework instruction in between sessions and need relief from:

  • Trauma or Anxiety issues (This can teach you how to calm your own nervous system.)

  • Sciatica

  • Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

  • Nerve entrapments

  • Hypermobility and hEDS issues

  • Scoliosis

  • Adhesions and scar tissue 

  • Stiffness and decreased range of motion

TMJ/IntraOral Therapies

 

The temporomandibular joint in the jaw can cause a significant amount of pain, headaches, popping, clicking, lockjaw, and eating issues when not functioning properly. This is known as TMJ Dysfunction. Using a blend of techniques including IntraOral massage, I can help with TMJ problems. The pressure used is generally light to moderate, but the Intraoral work can be intense. I work within your comfort level and you are in control the whole time.
